Inside One Of Cabo’s Top Hotels: Waldorf Astoria Pedregal Los Cabos

Waldorf Astoria Pedregal Los Cabos will always be one of my favorite hotels. You can’t beat a hotel that serves chips, guac, beer, and tequila as part of their turndown service. Plus, a private plunge pool doesn’t hurt either. Anytime I’m in Cabo, I make sure to at least stop by one of their restaurants even if I’m not staying there.

Accommodations

Carved into the cliffs of Pedregal Mountain, each room and suite offers sweeping views of the Pacific ocean. Choose from rooms, suites, beachfront, villas, and private homes. Turndown service includes chips, guacamole, crudité, and beer. Luxury is felt in every corner from free standing tubs and open showers, to cozy fireplaces and private plunge pools.

The Pools

Not only does every single room on property feature a private pool, the hotel offers an adults only pool with a swim up bar, a family friendly beach club area with a kid’s friendly pool, jacuzzi and shallow wading pool, plus a spa-guests only lagoon style pool. Spend the days out in the sun, ordering food and drinks right to your spot. There’s no bad seat in the house.

Spa

Top three best hotel spas I’ve ever been to. The decor, the vibe, the services, and amenities were all top notch. Choose from signature treatments, Mexican folk healing and wellness therapies, facial treatments, advanced skincare, massages, and soak rituals. After your treatment, take a dip in the private saltwater grotto lagoon pool for spa guests only. Spend as much time as you want here and order lunch right to your chair.

Bars & Restaurants

  • El Farallon: Known as one of the best restaurants in Cabo, you need to indulge in this cliffside restaurant. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, El Farallon features an ever changing ocean-to-table menu with fresh daily fish caught by local fishermen.

  • The Champagne Terrace: Try a glass of more than 15 different champagnes. Located within El Farallon.

  • Don Manuel’s: The hotel’s signature modern Mexican restaurant and bar boasts live music just steps away from the ocean. Also features an extensive wine cellar.

Bars & Restaurants

  • Crudo: Located at the center of the pool bar, swim up to enjoy oceanside sushi, grab a high top table, or order straight from your beach chair.

  • Agave Study at Peacock Alley: The ultimate tequila and mezcal tasting experience with panoramic views of the ocean. Open from 5-11pm.

  • Cabo Beach Club: Relaxed oceanside lunchtime dining with views of the surrounding mountains and ocean.

What To Do Around The Hotel

The hotel is in prime location - offering both a peaceful, luxurious escape but also within walking distance to all the great shops, bars, and restaurants. There is a golf cart service that will drive you from the hotel through the private tunnel, bringing you within walking distance of the marina and downtown area. Top places to check out: Outpost, SUR Beach House, Rooftop 360, and The Office on The Beach.

Amenities

Health and wellness transcend from the spa and into the fitness center, workout classes, and tennis courts. There are paths around the entire property that make for an ideal scenic walk to start the day. If you’re looking for guidance on how to spend your vacation, the renowned Waldorf Astoria concierge team can build a custom itinerary. Other amenities include a welcome margarita, welcome tequila bottle, refreshment center, and beach bag, plus daily afternoon and turndown amenities that include guacamole, chips, and local beer.

How To Get Here & Get Around

About a 45-minute drive from San José del Cabo International Airport (SJD), the resort is located through Mexico’s longest privately owned tunnel in the Pedregal neighborhood of Cabo San Lucas. The hotel has luxury airport transportation or you can easily grab a taxi outside when you exit the airport. Uber is available in Cabo, but they are not allowed to pick you up directly at the airport; however, they can drop you off directly at the airport. Once you’re at the hotel, you can use Uber to come or go as you please without restriction.

Accessibility

The hotel has certain rooms that have been designed for wheelchair users, located in buildings where there is easy elevator access. The hotel also features different paths as part of the main area to get around the property. Golf carts driven by staff members are also available to assist guests around the hotel.

All of the restaurants are wheelchair accessible. There are waiters to attend to all guests staying around the pool so they can order food wherever they are comfortable.

It is important to note there is no pool lift in either pool. Pets and service animals are welcome.
