Virgin Voyages is redefining the way people sail with epic itineraries that take you to Barcelona, Marseille, Cannes, Mallorca, and an overnight stop Ibiza. Make the most of your days with this ultimate port guide. And even if you’re not sailing this summer, you’ll want to save these spots for your European travels.

Port of Embarkation: Barcelona

  • Arcano: Truly authentic dining experience in a stone-walled 17th-century space.

  • Boca Grande: Insanely gorgeous restaurant. Don’t miss the dozens of mirrors decorating the bathroom downstairs.

  • Bastian Beach: Brand new club open daily. Only real beach club in Barcelona.

  • Park Güell: Buy tickets ahead of time, they sell out!!

  • Palau de la Música Catalana: beautiful concert hall filled with natural light.

  • Las Ramblas: Streets lined with endless shops and restaurants.

Port Stop 1: Marseille

  • Tuba Beach Club: This chic cliffside restaurant was our favorite place in Marseille! My 91-year old grandma insisted on trekking down a steep flight of steps for the full experience. Pack a bathing suit for a swim right off the rocks.

  • Splendido: Another awesome concept from the famous Big Mamma Group! Enjoy Italian classics served in this circus themed restaurant.

  • Ciel Rooftop: Rooftop restaurant in the center of Marseille offering unobstructed views of the city. Reservations are recommended.

  • Explore Old Port: Take the accessible shuttle provided by Virgin Voyages to the heart of the city featuring tons of bars, cafes, and restaurants.

  • Palais Longchamp: We love a free activity! This is an awesome place to visit, watch the fountains, and walk the grounds.

Port Stop 2: Cannes

  • Nammos: This world famous beach club has finally hit the Côte d'Azur! Definitely make a reservation in advance for lunch.

  • Carlton Cannes: Take a break from the sun and indulge in delicious wine and sweet treats in their center courtyard. We were able to just walk in without a reservation.

  • Annex Beach Club: Worth every penny to be able to use the chairs for the day. Food was fresh, the service was great, and the vibes were on point.

  • Other Beach Clubs: Lucia Cannes, Mademoiselle Gray Plage Barrière, La Môme Plage, Miramar Plage.

  • Day Trips: Nice, Monaco, Antibes through Virgin Voyage’s Shore Things excursions or venture on your own.

  • Accessibility Note: The most difficult in terms of getting from the ship to the port in Cannes. Do not recommend getting off for those bound to wheelchairs.

Port Stop 3: Palma de Mallorca

This is a big island for one day of exploration so you need to really think about how you want to plan your itinerary. Renting a car would be advisable to see as much of Mallorca as possible on your own time but it’s a tricky drive and the public bus system is easy to navigate. This is how we spent our day:

  • Shop Around Palma Old Town: Head down Passeig del Born, known as the Golden Mile, to experience one of the busiest shopping streets in Palma. Check out Avinguda de Jaume III for the most shops on one street and make sure to venture down Carrer de Sant Magi in Santa Catalina for all the trendy shops.

  • Deià: Having lunch at La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel, is an absolutely must. This was a highlight of our trip. Other worthwhile restaurants in the area are Sa Fonda, Nama, Illeta Restaurant, and Ca's Patró March.

Port Stop 4: Ibiza (overnight)

  • Shop around Old Town: This was the best shopping spot of the whole trip. Favorite stores were Ruta Market, Ibiza Bagús, and Modi in Ibiza.

  • Lunch at La Brasa d'Eivissa: In the heart of Old Town, make a reservation ahead of time in this garden oasis.

  • Dinner at Amante: Another top meal of the trip! This seaside restaurant is the perfect vibe to kick off the night.

  • Night Clubs: Hï Ibiza, Ushuaia, Pacha, Club Chinois Ibiza.

  • Beach Clubs: Blue Marlin Eivissa, Jondal, Beso Beach.
