Ever wish you could just roll out of bed and be at the airport? That’s the dream – and it’s come true in the TWA Hotel at JFK Airport. From a magical elevator that goes from the hotel to the JetBlue Terminal to a resurrected restaurant led by Michelin chef Jean-Georges Vongerichte, the TWA Hotel is a decadent pre (or post) vacay treat that will change the way you travel. Follow Hannah Huber as she takes us through all the retro fab spaces of this unique property.

The Rooms

Ultra-quiet floor-to-ceiling windows with blackout shades keep your room pin-drop quiet while you watch planes take off right outside. Every little detail is tinged with retro aesthetic from the sleek black rotary phone to the #MCM furniture. Feeling a pre-vacay splurge? Book the Howard Hughes Presidential Suite which features a view of the runway and a Mad Men worthy bar. Braille signage and ADA compliant rooms round a fantastic experience for every traveler.

Walk Back In Time

Picture it – New York, 1962. TWA is the pinnacle of air travel elegance with a sleek terminal designed by famed architect Eero Saarinen. Fast forward to 2019 when the once bustling hub was reimaged into a luxury hotel. To honor the property’s roots, an onsite museum showcases everything from vintage flight attendant’s uniforms to a scale model of the original terminal.

A Pool With A View

I guarantee you’ve never been to a pool like this before. Located on the hotel's roof is a sceney pool and bar that overlooks the runway at JFK. Sip cocktails in full vacay mode while you watch planes take off.

Paris Café by Jean-Georges

Housed in the original Paris Cafe and Lison Bar in the TWA terminal, Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichte brings his signature Michelin excellence to this 60s classic. The menu is super playful, finding inspiration in in-flight menus from TWA.

A Food Hall That Loves NY

Rushing to your flight? Grab a taste of New York before you jet off at the expansive Food Hall. Think classics like Mister Softee (IYKYK), a classic bagel sammy, or a hot dog from the infamous Feltman’s of Coney Island.

Connie Cocktail Bar

Yes, the rumors are true – there is a cocktail bar in a decommissioned plane. This loving restored 1958 Lockheed Constellation plane dubbed “Connie” is such a unique treat. Grab a drink and take your seat to feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Don’t forget to visit the cockpit and take lots of pictures.

Fido Friendly

If you are traveling with your fur baby, the TWA has got you. Pets are welcome for a $75 fee in designated areas of the hotel. There are several outdoor green spaces that serve as pet relief areas. Service animals are always welcome (free of charge) anywhere on property.

Accessibility & Dietary

The design of the original TWA hotel was not accessible at all. One major upgrade was implementing ramps, elevators, and wider entry points to make sure wheelchair users can access every fun floor. If you are flying JetBlue, there is an elevator that connects the TWA hotel directly to the terminal. It doesn’t get much better than that!

With so many different places to eat on the property, guests have a ton of options to accommodate their dietary needs. Paris Cafe is very accommodating, but give the restaurant a heads-up before your stay to make sure they have everything you need on hand.
